As I toured Biltmore I imagined Mr. Darcy wandering the halls of a grand house like it–eating at the “intimate” breakfast room, listening to performances in the music room, receiving guests in the long gallery, or (especially) reading in the library. You can read and research such a lifestyle, but there’s no substitute for seeing where it took place.
